Both arrive as a feeling in the body. Both can make you stop. And both can be right. So how do you know which one is speaking?
Fear rushes, intuition waits
Fear has a deadline. It wants you to act now, decide now, protect yourself now. Intuition is patient — it will tell you the same thing tomorrow, in the same calm voice.
Fear tells a story, intuition states a fact
Listen for the “what if”. Fear builds scenarios. Intuition doesn’t explain itself; it simply knows, and the knowing feels oddly neutral.
Fear is loud. Intuition is quiet, but it never leaves.
A two-minute check
- Breathe into your belly for five slow breaths
- Ask the question again and notice the first response
- Is it urgent and dramatic, or calm and simple?
The more often you practise this check, the faster you will recognise the difference — even in the middle of a big decision.
